"We are the only IT Engineering Company in Australia to have achieved Carbon Neutral Status
from 2009."

Within three weeks we achieved our customer’s commitment to DET. We supported them by working under their brand, deploying teams of engineers (all with Working with Children clearance) to uninstall old PCs and install the new ones. Importantly, we removed 40 tonnes of old PCs, with 98% of components and materials recycled. We also successfully reduced eWaste and greenhouse gas emissions using above ground mining techniques.

For DET, the service was seamless, with our client fulfilling its contractual obligations within an extremely tight timeframe.

Consider it Done

By designing an exacting schedule, coordinating the engineers and organising the recycling of decommissioned units, we achieved our solution on time and within the fixed-price budget. Over 14,200 desktops at 900 locations were removed, replaced and recycled within 15 days.

Deployment of 14,200 desktops on behalf of a large OEM for the NSW Department of Education and Training

The Project

This large PC maker is well known across six continents for developing, producing and delivering award-winning PCs. In November 2009, our client was engaged by the NSW Department of Education and Training (DET) to deploy 14,200 desktops across 900 education locations. Facing a critical ‘End of Year’ time constraint, it was crucial that they complete the deployment in just 15 working days.

The Need

To meet its commitments, the customer needed a service partner with rigorous project management expertise and the capabilities to deliver statewide coverage at a fixed price under immense time pressure.

Our Solution

Best I.T. Engineering immediately mobilised its project team, including our Project Management Office, 150 security cleared engineers, project coordinators and support staff.
